A Highly disciplined teacher with many years of
experience teaching amateur and professional fighters.
Juanito is a licensed as a boxing trainer and manager.
He carries goals of producing champion fighters,
establishing a boxing union and a trainer-cutman
association.

All his students are taught with physical and mental
discipline. They all know the ABC’s backwards:
CONCEIVE, BELIEVE AND ACHIEVE.

He uses discipline and mental conditioning for building
enthusiasm and stamina. In addition to training fighters,
he works at his job of over 20 years as a
Longshoreman. He values his family time and dedicates
his life to God.

His training program consists of strict nutrition,
complete body stretching, difficult physical workouts
and structured ringwork. Each fighter is monitored each
day by keeping a record of body weight, gym
performance, daily meals, mental moods and
productivity. His training camps are built on chemistry,
fellowship and hard work. A healthy environment is
formed between the fighter, cornermen and entire
camp personnel.

His program is a success if the athlete is truly
dedicated. He has donated many service hours to
youth, training and managing fighters of all categories.

In 1992, he received the California J.C. Penney
Volunteer Award, recognized by the President of the
United States, George Bush, Sr. for his Volunteer
Boxing Program, established by Juanito at the San
Pedro Boys and Girls Club. A very successful program
leading youngsters in the right direction. In 2006,
Juanito received an award from The State of California,
Lieutenant Governor, Cruz M. Bustamante,
commendation for Outstanding Community Service; for
serving the Athletes & Entertainers for Kids 'Heroes
Award'.

Juanito has contributed and supports the MMA world.
Since 1992, Juanito has been involved in over 100
MMA shows.

But his athlete career is not start with boxing.
Graduating from San Pedro High School, of Southern
California, he worked on his own personal skills as an
athlete, in football, basketball and track.

He continued his hard work studying sports medicine,
child physiology and EMT training. All very necessary,
to provide a complete training program.

After completing his schooling, he yearned for
professional experience, so he began to work with
professional teams; such as Denver Broncos, LA
Express, and the LA Laker's.

Hosting many amateur boxing shows in California
Juanito’s stepping-stones, lead him to many good
students.

At a young age of 19, Juanito was training fighters at
The Landmark; Hoover Street Gym, in Los Angeles,
and began training fighters such as Robert 'Badman'
Lewis and many others.

In 1989, training tracks started to appear toward his
rewarding job, by working with many greats such Oscar
DeLaHoya [preparing him for the Olympics], Jeremy
Williams heavyweight contender at the 1992 Olympic
Western Trials, with more mittwork, with others such as
Paul Gonzalez, 1984 Gold Medallist and Pepe Reilly,
1992 Olympian.

In 1995 more dedication was submitted to world
contender, Carlos ‘Famous’ Hernandez, and in 1999 he
was honored with working with Angel Manfredy.

Another great athlete stepped into the Juanito's gym
space, Vitor Belfort, Brazilian Light Heavyweight
Champion, with unbelievable speed and strength, in jiu-
jitsu, MMA and boxing.

But continues further….
Juanito continues to reach out and help many others
not mentioned, launching their careers with guidance,
care and discipline.

Juanito is current training Quintin ‘Rampage’ Jackson.
An unbelievable fighter and student. The most exciting
and explosive fighter, in MMA.

Juanito’s plate is full but he will always make room for
those who are serious, honest, walk a straight path and
believe!

He has proudly worked corners and trained talented
athletes with boxing greats:
Thell Torrance, Jackie McCoy, Art Miles, Bill Slayton,
Chuck Bodak, Eddie Futch and Al Stankie.

Training fills his heart with satisfaction on a personal
level but he has many goals that he reaches for….

Juanito has been part of such a unique fight world.

He has experienced personal trials, victories, losses
and financial gains. But he will always conduct himself
as a professional for the good of his students.

All students famous or unknown; professional or
amateur….are special to Juanito.
